Impacts of Industrial Wind Turbines:

The Burden of Protecting the Public and the Last Hope to do so

Big Wind Industry Companies, and consequently, the Bayshore Regional Sewerage Authority, continue to disregard and deny the existence of documented negative health and life-quality impacts on human beings and wildlife. They only supply the public with speculative, industry-generated claims and misinformation, which they rely upon, while dismissing as rumors or conspiracies, the very compelling findings of outside-of-industry medical and scientific studies that show evidence of the harmful effects and serious risks associated with industrial wind turbines. The DEP, as stated in its recent Level 2 Environmental Decision Document for the BRSA project, has thus far largely approved the project based upon the wind industry studies and testing results provided, which carefully attempt to avoid and minimize the factual reality of the known negative findings that have been shown. This constitutes an unacceptable threat to the public safety, health, and welfare - a travesty. That being the case, and absent working laws to keep us safe, the harsh reality is that both the burden of protecting the public and the last hope to do so, fall solely upon the victims – the guinea pigs - the residents and local officials of Union Beach and the surrounding Bayshore towns. It is vital to our defense, therefore, that we create local controlling ordinances, temporary stays, or outright bans on wind turbine construction and equally crucial that we gain adequate time to develop such measures - as we race against the momentum of wind industry dollar-power - while awaiting a final DEP decision on the BRSA request to have DEP avian impact study requirements waived, so that the project can commence in time to receive federal stimulus funds.

For a bona fide perspective on the legitimacy of the health and life-quality impacts, it is advisable to read and assess the excellent and comprehensive Ordinance at,

which was adopted by the Town Board of the Town of Union, Wisconsin, on November 13, 2008, which includes an extensive list of credible reports and studies that were relied upon and establishes application and licensing requirements and standards. We should draw upon the experience and dedication of the Union, Wisconsin Town Board and follow their lead.

NOTE: With specific regard to Noise Impacts and Setback Distances, go directly to section 20.01 on Pages 4–11 of the Ordinance as noted below:
