Chingarora Creek Clean-up on Saturday, May 14, 2011

Let me offer my thanks to all those people who were able to come out last Saturday morning between 10am-12 noon to help clean up Chingarora Creek on the border of Keyport, Union Beach, and Hazlet too.

We had about a dozen people show up, including Mayor Robert McLeod of Keyport! In all we collected around a ton of trash including three bicycles and a shopping cart out of the creek, and two tires, a table and a number of folding chairs, an old television set, and many, many, many bottles and cans of beer out of the wetland. Also, as usual, there was plenty of plastic!

Much appreciation goes to Amy Testa from the NY - NJ Baykeeper for helping to put this clean-up together and to John Mitten from the Monmouth County Clean Communities Program for supplying garbage bags & helping to collect and haul away all the trash.  Bravo to everyone!!!!
