The Bayshore Regional Watershed Council is dedicated to the restoration, protection, sustainable use, and enjoyment of Raritan Bay – Sandy Hook Bay and the watershed region.
OUR VISION:
-
Healthy waters that support abundant fish, shellfish, bird, and wildlife populations.
-
A watershed region that provides ample public access to our beaches and coastline, and provides a variety of recreational opportunities and parklands. To put parklands where the greatest amount of people are located.
-
A watershed region and coastline that is defined by sustainable communities, safe swimming beaches, open shellfish beds, access to plenty of places to fish, and stretches of scenic open spaces for all to enjoy.
-
A watershed region that protects biological diversity through preservation and restoration of open spaces, and connecting parklands via greenways and natural corridors.
-
Managing new development and re-development for the protection of the hydrology of our streams and creeks, and the protection of wildlife habitat for all species.
-
A Bay that is safe from chemical pollution, sewer discharges, dumping, and non-point source pollution.
-
A watershed where rivers, streams, lakes, forests, meadows, and wetlands are fully protected.
